About the role
The Senior Scientist role is pivotal in our mission to innovate within the realm of aging research. You will be deeply involved in the design, validation, and execution of assays specifically tailored for high throughput screening (HTS). The work you do will be crucial in identifying promising small molecule candidates that can potentially reverse age-related cellular dysfunction. This position is particularly exciting because it places you at the heart of a collaborative and dynamic team that thrives on scientific curiosity and innovation.
Key responsibilities
As a Senior Scientist, your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, developing, and optimizing HTS-compatible assays for small molecule screening.
- Executing HTS campaigns and analyzing complex datasets to identify and prioritize hit compounds.
- Implementing cell-based methods to evaluate senescence and other aging-related phenotypes.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to advance validated hits through the drug discovery pipeline.
- Communicating scientific findings in various settings, including team meetings and external conferences.
- Staying updated on advancements in aging biology and HTS methodologies, integrating new tools and strategies as necessary.
Minimum qualifications
To qualify for this role, you will need a PhD in a relevant field with 1-4 years of postdoctoral or industry experience, or a Master’s degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with over 5 years of experience in assay development and screening. You should have proven expertise in assay development and execution for HTS platforms and experience with high-content imaging or microscopy, along with corresponding data analysis workflows.
Preferred qualifications
While not mandatory, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in cellular senescence and aging-associated phenotypes. Experience in drug discovery within a pharmaceutical or biotech setting is highly desirable, as well as familiarity with automation platforms used in HTS. A record of peer-reviewed publications or patents in aging biology or screening technologies will also be advantageous.
