The Pixel team at Google seeks a senior leader to guide ambitious hardware and software efforts from idea to shipment. This role centers on new product introduction and requires a blend of business judgment and technical fluency to shepherd complex electronics into the hands of users worldwide. You will work where long-term technical roadmaps meet immediate product needs, using research, prototyping, and cross-discipline alignment to create differentiated consumer experiences.
Successful candidates will be comfortable in ambiguity and practiced at translating technical tradeoffs into clear product decisions. The position emphasizes AI-first device concepts that combine custom silicon, optimized system software, and thoughtful device architecture. The role expects someone who can define and test concepts that push category boundaries while keeping pragmatic constraints—power, thermals, and manufacturability—front and center. Candidates should understand new product introduction as a structured process linking discovery to commercialization.
Who we’re looking for
At a minimum, applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and bring at least eight years in product management or a related technical discipline. You should have a proven record of taking technical products from concept to market, with at least three years of direct experience in end-to-end launches (commonly described as 0-to-1 efforts). Candidates are expected to have driven or helped define foundational technology roadmaps, platform architectures, or flagship consumer electronics.
Preferred qualifications include an advanced degree in a technology or business field and hands-on experience with deep vertical integration—where hardware and software are co-designed across silicon, device architecture, and system software. We value entrepreneurial backgrounds and demonstrated comfort owning system-level constraints and complex technical tradeoffs. A strong candidate will anticipate hardware cycles years ahead and thrive in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment.
What you’ll do
In this role you will lead discovery, ideation, and prototyping for NPIs across AI-enabled devices. Your day-to-day work will include identifying emerging product areas, defining product concepts, and iterating on prototypes to validate product-market fit. You will synthesize user research, technical feasibility, and business strategy to identify key user journeys and shape positioning and go-to-market approaches. The job requires translating cross-functional inputs into a coherent roadmap and actionable milestones.
Key responsibilities and collaborations
You will partner closely with teams across Platform, Silicon, Tech Engineering, and Pixel Software to land prototypes that demonstrate compelling user value. Responsibilities include owning discovery workstreams, establishing success metrics for prototypes, and driving initiatives through to concept validation. You will also help prioritize features that address crucial constraints like power, thermal management, and component integration while preserving delightful user experiences. The role acts as a bridge between established product roadmaps and innovative, cross-organizational categories.
