Rumors swirling around Honor’s next flagship have taken a concrete shape after a leaked engineering prototype emerged. Codenamed Flora, the yet-to-be-named 700 series is poised to debut a suite of high-end features that push the brand’s price-to-performance balance into new territory. While the official launch window is tentatively set for November, the details disclosed so far suggest a device that blends a large, crisp display with an unprecedented rear-screen element.
The prototype showcases a 6.57-inch 1.5K panel framed by ultra-thin bezels on all sides, delivering a compact footprint despite the generous screen real estate. Most eye-catching is the 1.72-inch native rear screen, a built-in auxiliary display that replaces the snap-on magnetic mini-screen seen on the previous 600 series. This rear interface is expected to host quick actions, notifications, and possibly selfie framing, although its exact functionality remains under wraps.
Key hardware highlights from the Flora prototype
At the heart of the upcoming 700 lineup sits a 200MP main camera sensor. While the sensor model has not been disclosed, its sheer pixel count signals a focus on detailed imaging and advanced computational photography. The Honor 700 Pro variant is reported to add a 50MP periscope telephoto lens, promising considerably better optical zoom capabilities compared to standard setups.
Power delivery receives a massive boost with a 9,000 mAh battery, roughly 400 mAh larger than the 8,600 mAh pack found in the Chinese-only Honor 600 Super. This capacity should comfortably sustain a full day of heavy usage, especially when paired with the device’s larger display and rear screen. Honor is also trialing four colour finishes—Cool White, Sky Blue, Azure, and Pink Mist—though the final roster may shift before the commercial launch.
Honor Play 10 arrives in the Philippines
On a more immediate timeline, Honor has rolled out the Play 10 for the Philippine market, pricing it at PHP 6,999. The phone targets budget-conscious consumers who still desire a sizable, fluid viewing experience. It is powered by a MediaTek Helio G81 octa-core processor and runs an Android Go skin, a lightweight OS layer designed for smooth operation on modest hardware.
Two memory configurations are offered: 3 GB RAM with 64 GB internal storage, and a higher-tier 4 GB RAM with 128 GB storage. Both variants are equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery that accepts 10 W charging—a balance between endurance and quick top-ups for everyday tasks. Visually, the Play 10 presents a 6.74-inch HD+ FullView display refreshed at 90 Hz, delivering buttery-smooth scrolling for social feeds, video playback, and casual gaming.
The handset’s design is sleek yet practical, measuring around 8.55 mm in thickness and weighing roughly 189 g, making it comfortable for prolonged single-hand use. It ships in Midnight Black and Ocean Cyan, and can be purchased through authorised Honor retail stores, Globe Telecom outlets, and the brand’s official online shops on Lazada, TikTok Shop, and Shopee.
While the Play 10 serves as an immediate offering for the Southeast Asian market, the 700 series promises to set a higher benchmark for Honor’s flagship aspirations. Both announcements underscore the brand’s strategy of delivering flagship-level specs—such as a 200MP sensor and a 9,000 mAh battery—at more accessible price points, catering to consumers eager for cutting-edge photography and extended battery life without waiting for premium-tier releases.
